The DTA was formed in order to enable greater global civil society coordination in the digital trade arena and help create an interdisciplinary understanding of urgent issues facing the global digital economy.
We seek to open a path towards transformative change in international digital policymaking by empowering consumer and digital rights groups to engage with trade policy. We advocate for a positive, rights-based, consumer- and people-facing agenda in digital trade, and in the process, push back against corporate capture of the digital trade arena.
Our alliance model seeks to build capacity and empower civil society organizations to demand policies for digital rights, equity, inclusion, social justice, and sustainable development.
We provide a space for sharing ideas, networking and collaborating to achieve change.
The Digital Trade Alliance DOES NOT accept funding from corporations, governments or political parties.
As a network that acts in public interest, we consider ourselves fully accountable to the public!
